Fotos são discursos/ Photos are speeches

A Arte de Chipp Forelli/The art of Chipp Forelli

Apresento agora a arte do Mestre Chipp Forelli.

Who makes the paint is not the brush, but the painter! Imagine if you have the best brush in the world, would be equal to Rembrandt? So also works in photographic art. The equipment is to complement your style. Chipp Forelli is one of the exponents of this art and uses films. Your choice of analog equipment is why, in his view, is the one that best suits your style of shooting. For example, different films have no grain in the shadow and the highlights. Movies are highly predictable and consistent results. Analog machines are more intuitive and more consistent operation. Far from me to start a discussion digital vs film, Mac vs Pc, Canon vs Nikon, but conceptualize that does not matter wich  a magic wand that you use but the magic that you do. All this may seem silly because if Chipp Forelli switch to digital, yet their pictures are wonderful because who does not brush painting but the painter! The next time you see someone using old equipment , do not call him old, because behind that equipment can be a master . Introducing  the art of the Master Chipp Forelli.

David Hockney e a invenção da fotografia/ David Hockney and photography invention

The photograph was actually invented in 1826 by Niepce ? Or he just completed a final process for recording image by chemistry? The history shows that the picture can not be credited to a single inventor, but several previous experiments by several people . Let's start with the name : photograph that means in Greek, which gave rise to the word , drawing with light. The artist David Hockney in a research paper , and clearly demonstrated in his book The Secret Knowledge , that photography began to be practiced around 1420, with the development of lenses, glasses with best quality , and the practice of " camera lucida , " just the opposite of the camera obscura . The camera lucida was patented by William Wolleston in 1807 , but had already been described by Kepler some 200 years before . But what was this mysterious object ? It was just a great photographic camera as a dark room in the window would be a lens , and the image was projected on the outside wall. The artist would then be able to trace their lines on this drawing. Hockney , noting that from 1420 the paintings became extremely detailed , distrusted because suddenly , all the designers ( painters ) have become a lot better , making paintings with uncanny accuracy . So your thesis is that from 1430, mainly among the Flemish painters , photography began to be practiced . The research Hockney , amply documented in documentary evidence , and visual matching , leads to intriguing question about the date of the invention of photography! One of the paintings , in which he supports his thesis is The couple Arnolfini by Jan van Eyck . Notice the details of the chandelier , and featured a detail of a concave mirror on the wall!

Jan Saudeck

Jan Saudeck is a photograph of Czechioslovakia, born in 1935, a Jew who was imprisoned with their parents in a concentration camp, and perhaps give a note brought to acidic which carried his photograph, almost demented and without limits of modesty. In the years of the Iron Curtain, was at its creative peak, getting some films smuggled by friends, shooting with an old Rolleyflex, and having the studio as a small environment of 16 square meters. With just a film and his twelve frames, could be quite prolific, sending your photos, also for smuggling to the West where they were worshiped and disseminated. Your photos, black and white and hand painted, have friends, skinny, ugly, fat, prostitutes as scenic object and each picture tells a different story, reinforcing the concept that photos are speeches counted frame by frame.

Foto Composite/ Composition Photographic

Composition photographic walks among the beautiful and the grotesque. Before anything, the photographer who ventures in this area have to be creative enough to have in mind the whole composition before you start shooting, it has to have a thorough knowledge of the technique to shoot and run the assembly, finally, has to know what and where. Some photographers has excelled in this field and orders are not lacking, especially for work for large customers who require a pattern of differentiation.
Even incurring the mistake of lack of knowledge, I want to highlight David Hill, with its mega productions and Ale Burset, an argentine photographer based in New York, who did amazing work for the City of Belo Horizonte. To complete, a little joke I made for a football team.

Lugar e momento decisivos/ Decise time and place

O equipamento estava comigo, a cabeça panoramica estava no carro, esquecida no mesmo no dia anterior, a luz incidindo do lado certo, enfim....

Being in the right place at the right time. Perhaps this is one of the commandments of getting an excellent photo and Sebastião Salgado is proof of that. On 30 March 1981 was passing through New York on his way to Australia. At this time it was freelance and was covering a speech by Ronald Reagan at the Hilton Hotel in Washington, but failed credential for the event and then went to the back door, at least to cover the departure of President. At this time, John Hinckley, 22 shot six times against Reagan. Only one of the bullets hit the the president, puncturing his lung. There were several photojournalists, who were prevented from making images of work by security guards, who rushed to cover the President and only 03 were in position to make records. One of them, the AP agency, managed to record the exact time of impact of the shot, the other was changing films and Sebastian was in a side that agents failed to cover. The photographer who was at the service of AP, received nothing because the agency claimed that the photo was her, one time he was employed. Sebastian said later that the money received has to buy an apartment in Paris, and an automobile, values estimated at the time at over $ 300,000. And this was the impetus to begin his career as a documentary photographer
. I've lost a lot of photos to be inattentive, the equipment to be saved, or, most often, not being with me. But, on this photo, everything was for, because I was doing a job and back on the scene saw the balloon being assembled in a park. The equipment was me, the panoramic head was in the car, on the same forgotten the previous day, the light falling on the right side, anyway ....
