Qual equipamento voce usa? / What kind of equipament do you use?

Uma das piores coisas que acho ao ser entrevistado, ou em encontros de fotografos, é a pergunta: " Que equipamento você usa?" Porque acho que equipamento é o item de menor importância no trabalho de um fotografo. O que importa é sua visão. O que podemos dizer de um fotografo que vai contra todas as tendencias em seu trabalho autoral. Que usasse uma velha Sinar 8x10 polegadas abastecida com o bom e antigo filme. Que não usa, em seus trabalhos de portrait, octabox, hazy box, sombrinhas, mas sim luzes diretas, tornando seus retratos closes quase cruéis, mas que o fizeram dele um dos mais badalados fotografos contemporaneos. Bom dia, meus amigos! Depois de uma ausência  de quase 15 dias, aqui estamos de volta para mais um pequeno encontro fotografico. Quando falta inspiração, onde buscar? Melissa Rodwell, uma das top fotografas mundial diz que filmes em cinemas são a sua inspiração. Tambem concordo com isto e sempre que posso vou a cinemas para ver filmes que possam servir de inspiração. Acho que cada fotografo tem a sua lista de filmes visualmente maravilhosos e então aqui vai a minha:

6- Todos os filmes de Felini, Nestor Almendros, Vitorio Storaro e Darius Khondji

Helmut Newton

É muito difícil fazer um blog sem ter que, pelo menos uma vez, falar de Helmut Newton. Este alemão, naturalizado australiano, marcou o mundo das imagens ao fazer fotos não convencionais de mulheres, retratadas como fatais, em situações inusitadas, as quais se o tornaram um ícone. Helmut era uma máquina criativa, fazendo nascer fotos como a que foi internado para fazer uma avaliação cardíaca, e logo depois levou suas modelos para fazer um editorial de moda dentro de uma UTI, com todos os fios de monitoramento conectados. Embora uma grande parte do seu trabalho tenha sido feito com um Hasselblad  lente normal, usava qualquer tipo de equipamento que estivesse a mão. Existe uma história que a fazer um passeio de gondola em Veneza, ao perceber que se aproximava outra gondola com freiras, pediu à modelo que levantasse a blusa e mostrasse os seios. Fotografou a cena com uma camara simples, destas que turista sempre tem à mão, e a mesma foi publicada em várias revistas. Helmut Newton morreu em 2004, com 84 anos e ainda trabalhando!

Fórmula para retratos originais/ Formulates for unique portraits!

Porque ser original? No minimo para ser valorizado e consequentemente aumentar o faturamento. Alguns anos atrás comecei a fazer um tipo de foto bem original, e que na época chamou muita atenção e com ela ganhei bastante dinheiro. Vamos à formula? 
-Fotografar com filme B&W, Tri-x de preferencia. Fotometrar para baixas luzes, revelar para altas.
-Ampliar em papel 50x60, preferir papel N (fosco)
-Depois de ampliado, fazer uma viragem Sépia.
-Feita a viragem, fazer redução em rebaixador Farmer, até desaparecer os detalhes mais marcantes. Lavar por 4 horas. 
-Depois de seco, colorir com Marshall Oil, sendo usado Terra Siena para cabelos, Pale Rose para pele, vermelho para lábios e Azul para olhos. 
Vantagens: sendo uma foto de artesanato podia-se cobrar muito por um retrato. Durabilidade absurda, pois tenho fotos como esta a mais de 20 anos sem perder cor ou qualidade.
Hoje, uma foto desta pode ser executada com Photoshop, muito mais rápida, mas não pode-se cobrar um  1/10 valor da época!

Quando jovens fotógrafos me pedem conselhos para se "alguém" na história da fotografia, com certeza eu digo para serem originais. Principalmente na época atual, em que os mistérios técnicos da fotografia ja não são mais obstáculos, o que conta é a originalidade: fotografar o mesmo assunto de maneira diferenciada. Por exemplo: a fotografia de nús. Milhares de fotos ja foram feitas sobre o assunto, mas sempre aparece algum fotógrafo que o faz com maestria, diferente. Embora sua carreira tenha sido curta, ceifada por uma pneumonia fatal, até hoje a sua fotografia é muito lembrada. Herb Ritts levou o estilo fotografico para videos comerciais, e principalmente para video clips. Este estilo era tão excepcional que ver o video praticamente ver um livros com suas fotos.
